Bike Ride

Yesterday I took a quick bike ride to Višķi (or Vyshki?). Right as I was heading out, two friends called me back-to-back and suggested hanging out. I had to pedal at a fierce pace to get back sooner. Luckily, the freshly bought tires and fully pumped wheels allowed it. Or maybe it was the wind – but in any case, on the way there I rode at a fantastic speed for me -  30-40 km/h, even uphill, and didn't stop until Višķi itself.

Map of the Daugavpils region showing roads, settlements, and lakes. Two routes are highlighted on it: one dark blue route from Daugavpils north to Lake Vushki (point B), and another light blue/purple route with points A, F, E, D, C around the city.

In Višķi, I successfully enjoyed the views and rested near the Catholic church, sat under a tree when it started raining, which is why I didn't get wet. The priest nodded at me, I waved back in response; that's how we talked.

I rode back at a speed of 20-25, got caught in the rain a bit, but it was bearable. Rode 80 km in total, was on the trip for 4.5 hours, meaning even taking into account all the stops and admiring the views, the average speed was 17.5 – very decent. Since I saw far from everything, I'll definitely take another ride to Vyshki – it's beautiful there. The next destination is Medumi.

P.S. Google services are getting cooler and cooler. I'm already starting to like Maps.
